We stayed here for Three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our break.Room was well appointed and the bed was very comfortable.Exceptionally quiet for a city hotel and ideally situated for exploring Amsterdam.The staff were very pleasant ,helpful and efficient.Breakfasts were totally satisfactory and were a good start to the day.I would not hesitate to recommend the Albus and would be happy to stay again in the future.

Beautiful. Rooms elegant, very cleaned and confortable. Personnel very nice. The location is perfect to reach in a few mintutes wolking every main attaction.

The hotel is very nice and has a wonderful location. The staff was friendly The only drawback of the hotel was an extremely strong sense of perfume - especially in my room - that I almost got a head ache from it. So strong that all my stuff smell of it after two nights in the room :(

We have just returned from Amsterdam. We were so pleased with our choice of hotel. The Albus is in a perfect location to explore the city and is very convenient for transport links. As most cities Amsterdam can be quite expensive but we found a nice Indian restaurant "Shiva" just around the corner. Great food at reasonable prices. The staff at the Albus couldn't be more helpful. Greeting us with a warm smile and advising us on city tours and helping with directions. We felt nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean, modern and very comfortable. We are planning on returning to Amsteram next year and will definitely stay at the Albus.

My stay at the Albus Hotel was very nice and comfortable. Staff was gentle and the location excellent : there is a bike rental just 1 minute walk round the corner towards Rembrandt Place. Room was clean and just the right dimensions for our needs. The NESPRESSO machine in the room, with new crups every morning was a real added value!!! Just one negative point was that breakfast costed € 19 per person...very expensive since a standard breakfast costs around €10 and I don't think there was much more offer of food and drinks to justify the high price. If going again to Amsterdam I certainly will stay again at the Albus Hotel!

I have to totally disagree with the latest preview from Judith, honestly the hotel letting trainees to handle customers without closely monitoring their job with the customers is a very downside from the hotel, also i agree with one of the reviews that there was no guidance or help from the staff regarding any penalty that might occur during your stay, specially for tourists that are not aware of these policies, what i'm SAYING here is that they have to be more COOPERATIVE, more HELPFUL, more UNDERSTANDING, and not just ripping the customers with PENALTIES & FEES without even informing or sending a letter, when you check out, you get your lovely surprise when you check out, people plz understand, this is a personal experience, and i have experienced it, they even might now act differently ... just BE CAREFUL in anything you do or sign, they acted like a DICTATORSHIP system.
Stayed recently in the Albus. Wunderfull stay and non smoking. Service was very good and the dinner wunderfull. The previous review is not right. On the website and in the comfirmation I received it was mentioned that it was a non smoking hotel. You can not missed.
Be careful of MANIPULATION ! It appeared that it was like the hotels aim to get people penalized for smoking without any clear signs ,guidance and help, only taking advantage with manipulation...we paid a penalty of 200 Euros! as the hotel failed to complete the nonsmoking policies correctly toward the guests, by informing every guest about it very clearly upon check in. No compensation from the hotels side and no understanding were shown.
Everything about this hotel is fabulous, location rooms staff. Spotlessly clean and great coffee machine. The pillows were the best ever so much so we purchased 2 to bring home! Would definitely return and recommend.

The hotel's location is perfect, you really can walk to everything downtown Amsterdam. Ingeniously connected with trams (tram), a step away from the bustling Rembrandt and 4 steps from Dam Square, You have all kinds of services right next to the hotel. At the same time the site is quiet. The hotel is very modern, functional, will not hear any noise or the street or neighbors. The staff very helpful, friendly and always willing to help you on your visit to the city. Certainly a great hotel at a reasonable price ... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
There was some mix up with my reservation when I arrived. The staff was wonderful I was served coffee while I waited for them to straighten it out. During my stay the staff was perfect, all my request were met with polite ethusiasm. The room was very nice and included a built in 110V adapter in the bathroom. A very comfortable bed and very dark curtains made it easy to sleep late in the morning.(no alarm clock) The room was small but that is normal for hotels in the old part of Amsterdam. Nearly everything you would want to see in Amsterdam is within a 15 minute walking distance from this hotel. Rembrandt square is 2 blocks away( about a 3 minute walk) I will stay here again next time I am in Amsterdam! ALBUS!! The staff is the best!
My friend and I stayed in the Albus for a few days recently while in Amsterdam on holiday. The staff was amazing, the food was excellent, and the room was very contemporary. The coffee machine was also incredible and very easy to use. Will gladly stay there again!
We had a great room (got a free upgrade without asking for it) and the bed was lovely. The staff was very friendly and the location of the hotel is very central.
Just back from a break in Amsterdam, stayed in the Albus hotel. Room was very small, very dissapointed in it!! The food in the hotel was great and the staff were very nice.
I have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Albus and I do not have a single bad word to say about it. Our room was upgraded free of charge, the staff are extremely polite and helpful and the restaurant is reasonably priced with excellent food. Very good city hotel.
Just come back from a 3 night stay in Amsterdam. The Albus is a wonderful hotel for such a break. Ideally situated for museums, bars and restaurants. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and give us a map and circled the various places of interest. I would recommend The Albus as a must place to stay.
Wonderful hotel, highly recommend! We had a family room, very spacious, modern and clean. All the staff we came across were very helpful and friendly. We ate breakfast in the restaurant both days and it was excellent, i only wish we had eaten there in the evening too - the restaurant looked great in the evening. Superb location, flower market 2 minutes, nine streets area 5-10 mins and museums 10-15 mins all walking. Have recommended to friends and family. A real pleasure...
Amazing location and incredible service. From the beginning to the end the staff at Albus was very helpful in every single domain. When I needed to check my flight, giving directions to different events, helping me finding a scale to make sure my luggage was the right weight. I highly recommend this hotel. Last weekend i stayed for my 2nd time at Albus. Great hotel, very central, nice rooms, great coffee machine. Very clean and most important very helpful staff. I have also recommend this hotel to friends and was not let down. In fact i m going back for another weekend in a couple of weeks time!! :-)

Room was very very small. Number 101. Apart from that very nice clean & only 10min walk to dam square. I would stay there again defo but would ask for larger room. Hope to be back soon... :))

Lovely. Great location, and a lovely hotel - chill out music at breakfast. Pillows were lovely, big deep and very comfortable. So nice took one out of the cover to see what they were made of. They looked brand new! (high density anti allergy and 60 x 90cm - lovely). Very relaxed, clean and fresh hotel. Would definitley stay again
The hotel is nice. But the building walls are too thin, that I can hear clearly the tv next room and people walking outside. Management are yet to be improved, such as baggage storage service is one of the least secured practise among the hospitality industry. Also a little bit disappointed on my request of having a 2pm check out which required a sucharge of 50 euro. This lack of flexibility is also not too competitive among the hospitality industry.
I stayd in the ALBUS many time in the lost yeas, very good we loved it i next time in Amsterdam will definitely look at staying in the same hotel ! Ofer orad & sons
Lovely, friendly staff, very stylish room. No air con, rooms hot. Very very noisey room as over looking busy street and no double glazing. Our room was a good size and really enjoyed our wkend break. Mis leading location of hotel as not overlooking canal as lead to believe by website, definately disapointing for us.
Fantastic! From the outside it looks older but inside it's great. Our room was great (best TV of our trip - when we wanted to relax for a bit). Our room was lacking air conditioning though (top floor of the building and it got HOT). Staff were very friendly and helpful - something we craved after travelling in Italy where they were not. It was very easy to get around...we walked to most places within 1/2 hr. Would definitely stay here again.
There were significant building renovation works going on during our stay which it would have been nice to have been warned about when we booked. Nonetheless it was a good stay and hopefully work is now completed. We upgraded to get a smoking room and had an old style television while our friends in the standard room had flat screen - unusual. Staff were very helpful and location is great. Would stay again.

Stayed in august '09. Were offered an upgrade which we took-v reasonable price. Room great, everything we needed-as others have mentioned lovely bath! Great location, if we visit Amsterdam we will definitely look at staying in the same hotel!

The hotel is in the center of Amsterdam close to many coffeshops , restaurants , shops and open markets.we stayed there for 10 days the hotel itself was very clean with friendly and helpful staff. If we go to Amsterdam again we would definatly book at The Albus Grand Hotel. Well done to all the staff keep it up

The hotel is in prime location...I was able to walk to just about all of my destinations. Rooms were clean/neat and the staff was very helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
The hotel was in an excellent location. I could walk to many stores, the Palace, the museums, and the canal boats from here easily. There were no extra surprising charges for me. The staff was nice. I loved the restaurant "Get Together" Yanna, the waitress, was very nice and polite,and the food was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel and restaurant.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Easy to get around with a tram stop close by. Really good location. Recommend Park and Ride at the Olympic Stadion if you are driving. Parking fees are outrageous! Room was clean and fine for the price.
I booked in after a stay at another 3 star hotel. This hotel was far superior to this and was good value for money in a great central location. I would definitely stay here again when I come back to Amsterdam.
