Senses restaurant is a part of The Albus Hotel.  A 4-star superior design hotel in the heart of Amsterdam, near Rembrandt Square and Munt. The Albus offers 75 newly renovated rooms. Senses restaurant serves breakfast (designated team), lunch and dinner and offers all-day room service.

RESTAURANT MANAGER

We are looking for an experienced restaurant manager. Your main responsibility is to make sure that every guest gets a perfect service and leaves Senses with a fantastic lunch or dining experience.

 Your tasks:

  • Managing the team for lunch and dinner.

  • Contributing role as a host; welcoming guests and providing top service.

  • Work closely with the Chief Cook by evaluating and adjusting on a daily basis.

  • Assembling the wine list and wine matching arrangements with the menus.

  • Based on experience and following trends and developments in the market, make proposals for improvements and changes

  • Personnel organization: recruitment, planning (schedules), timesheets and training.

  • Handling of requests and reservations

  • Monitoring cost control.

  • MBO / HBO degree in Hospitality

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a (assistant)manager in a fine-dining

CHEF DE RANG / 1e RESTAURANT WAITER FT / PT

SOMMELIER

Your tasks:

  • Compose the wine list and combine wine arrangements with the changing tasting menus.

  • You can think 'out of the box' in your choices and do not immediately go for the familiar names. You like to think along in the total concept of Senses restaurant.

  • Primarily you take care of the wines during the service. Wine pairing ensures the ultimate experience of the tasting menu. You advise our guests in this.

  • In addition, you have a cooperative role as host / hostess; receiving guests and delivering top service.

  • Maintain guest contact, actively ask for feedback about quality and service.

  • Based on experience and following trends and developments in the market, keep the winelist update

GUEST SERVICE SPECIALIST

What are you going to do?

Together with the entire Front Office and Reservation team you will ensure that all guests of the Albus have an unforgettable stay in and around the hotel. You do this by contacting the guests before, during and after their stay.

You are the contact person between our guests and the hotel. You create a personal atmosphere by welcoming guests. You are responsible to exceed the expectations of the guests, by finding out what the guest finds important and responding to them.

You also managing all reviews on various Review sites such as Tripadvisor.

Your responsibilities:

By providing "a sense of bliss", you try to approach each guest in person and guarantee a special stay, you act as a point of contact for both the team and the guest;

  • Assisting our guests in a friendly, efficient and professional manner during their stay in the Albus
  • You consider the specific wishes of the guest and communicate this to the various departments;
  • You handle any complaints and follow them up;
  • You control guest rooms and you take care of the different VIP treatments;
  • You keep guest profiles up to date
  • You handle suggestions from our guests and follow them up
  • You follow up all reports via review sites and act upon them if desired.
  • Support the reception department where necessary

We expect from you:

  • A completed MBO/HBO education within the Hospitality
  • Experience within a FO team in a 4 or 5-star hotel
  • Knowledge of Fidelio Suite 8 or comparable PMS system
  • Speaks and writes fluent English (Dutch or any other foreign language is an advantage)
  • Broad knowledge about the city of Amsterdam
  • Good communicative skills
  • A flexible attitude, willing to work in changing services
  • Resident in the Amsterdam region

RECEPTIONIST

Your responsibilities

  • Contributing to the daily operation within the reception team at the Albus, both managing and hands on.
  • In the absence of the FO Manager you are ultimately responsible
  • You support colleagues in the daily operation
  • As a teacher/coach, you train the new trainees
  • Taking care of the VIP’s and their associated programs.
  • You monitoring the social media of the hotel actively.
  • Administrative tasks such as registration of cash transactions and payments, checking reservations and handling guest requests and reservations via email. 

We expect from you:

  • MBO / HBO education in the Hospitality
  • Experience within an FO team in a 4 or 5 star hotel
  • Knowledge of Fidelio Suite 8 PMS or similar system
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (a second foreign language is a plus)
  • Knowledge of the city of Amsterdam
  • An entrepreneurial and commercial attitude
  • Good communicative skills
  • A flexible attitude, willing to work in variable shifts
  • Active and inquisitive attitude
  • Living in the Amsterdam region

 

BREAKFAST WAITRESS PT

For our motivated breakfast team, we are looking for a flexible (part time) colleague for 3 to 5 mornings a week. The Albus serves a "blissful breakfast" every morning, a buffet full of delicious and healthy products to start the day with. As a breakfast waitress you welcome the hotel guests and escort them to their table. You take care of the cleanliness of the breakfast room and the presentation and quality of the breakfast buffet. You work alternately in the kitchen and prepare the hot and cold dishes.

The Albus also offers the "blissful breakfast" as room service, so you also assist in preparing and bringing these orders to the hotel rooms. 

Job requirements

  • Experience as a breakfast employee in a 4 or 5 star hotel is an advantage
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the Dutch and / or English language in word and writing
  • A flexible attitude
  • An extremely service-oriented mentality

Choose convenience and pre-order your travel tickets online at Discover Holland. Order a single or multiple-day train ticket when you want to travel between airport Schiphol and Amsterdam. Including bus, tram, metro, and ferry boat. Skip the line, proceed directly to the train and enjoy our capital to the fullest.
Take the train to Amsterdam Central Station and from there continue by tram. When arriving at Central Station you can take tram 24. Exit at stop Muntplein. Walk across the street, you will find The Albus approx. 20 mtrs from the stop. Tickets for sale at the train stations or in the tram.
